The Nisqually Earthquake began at 10:54 AM on February 28th, 2001. The tower at Seatac airport was unable to direct planes into the airport, because the tower was collapsing. In Renton, a woman was almost swept away with a mudslide that took half her house. It was given the nickname the miracle quake, because it was a miracle that nobody died as a result of the quake, but more than 200 people were treated for injuries regarding the quake. The most significant structural damage was in Olympia, where repairs were going to cost about one billion dollars.
